A "How to Blog" Article
What Is A Blog & Why Are They
So Popular?
Blogs Have
Evolved Into A Very Distinct Publishing Approach Which Fits
the World's New Lifestyle
The In 1932, when Aldous
Huxley wrote his groundbreaking novel Brave New World, he
had no idea how true his prophecies would become. And in
many ways, the Internet has ushered in its own brave new
world and this medium has opened a whole new universe of
possibilities. Now, with the advent of blogging, greater
unprecedented opportunities have surfaced for average people
just like us.
A. The New
Popular World of Blogs
1. Blog: Word Of The
Year? Jorn Barger coined the term "weblog" back in 1997.
Later this was shortened to "blog" and it has come to be
used both as a noun and a verb. You can say, "I blog about
the stock market", or "I have my own blog." But in 2004,
Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary named "blog" the
word of the year (yes, words are bestowed such honors). This
recognition probably had a lot to do with the enormous
impact blogs had on the United States presidential election
that year.
2. Blog Popularity Is Exploding. Blogs have left the
launch pad and gone into orbit. In the summer of 2005 the
Blog Herald guesstimated there were 65 million blogs with
readership up to 500 million. According to Technorati (the
blog directory) they now track 112.8 million blogs (as of
2008, so this figure is a year old) on the Internet. But
this does not include the 72.82 million Chinese blogs as
counted by The China Internet Network Information Center.
Of course Technorati
doesn't even come close to counting all of the non-Chinese
speaking blogs on the Internet, as many bloggers have never
registered with them. That there are probably well more than
200 million blogs is such a massive number, it's hard to get
a hold of. Businesses have certainly taken notice and have
often launched their own weblogs and are joining the brave
new world of in the blogosphere.
You'll find blogs on
numerous subjects on most web news sites like MSNBC.com and
CNN.com. They have become a fashionable alternative for
traditional media companies. Many hot news stories have hit
the street through the publication first in blogs like the
Drudge Report. News can travel fast within the blogging
community because people are encouraged to leave comments
and make trackbacks to other articles on other sites. People
who read one or more blogs do so because they want to know
what's happening within their areas of interest. Blog
readers are on the cutting edge of what's new and hot. Which
puts pressure on non blog readers to get up with the times
and start reading.
3. Blogs Can
Definitely Make Money. Whether you are new to building
your own Internet home business or if you have been at it a
while, you will soon find that learning to blog will help
you take a great step forward in improving your online
business. If you have an existing website which just isn't
being found by the search engines, blogging may be the
answer for raising your visibility.
Or maybe you would like
to set up your own blog network to reap advertising revenue
from many different companies. You might even want to run
autopilot blogs which earn money for you without having to
fiddle much with them. Whatever your situation, this
Training Course is designed to tell you with everything you
need to know so you can to use the magic of blogging to jump
start and/or increase your online money making
possibilities.
B. So
What is a Blog?
1. A Blog Is A
Journal. Blogs typically started out in the beginning as
online diaries in which a blogger shared his opinions,
discussed his personal interests, ranted on politics, or
just gave details of the events of his life or his day.
They've evolved in something way more compelling as they
have grown in popularity. This powerful new form of
opinionated communication has the business community
buzzing. If you are a new Internet marketer, you simply must
learn more about blogs if you want to keep up with the
times.
2. Blogs are Updated Regularly. The main difference
between a blog and a traditional website is the way (and how
often) they are updated. Regular websites are often set up
and then remain the same with few changes. But blog software
allows the content to be updated easily and on a regular
basis. Because website content is static, seldom changing,
search engines visit them infrequently. This makes it more
difficult for a site to get noticed and have its listing
updated when new pages are added.
Search engines realize that blogs are constantly being
updated with new and time sensitive information. So they are
often visited and indexed each time there is a new post.
This tends to make it much easier for a blog to get listed
in search results, and of course, this means that much more
traffic will be flowing their way. And of course traffic
ultimately can mean more money in your pocket if you know
what you're doing.
3. Blog Software Is Well Organized. Blogs usually
come with well organized programs which allow both
businesses and individuals to write short and long articles
and organize them so they can be searched easily. Blogs are
usually more interesting when they are aimed at a narrow
niche subject. They provide instant access for people who
are searching for a wide variety of information on specific
and focused subject matter.
C. Blogs Liberate and Empower
1. Who Are Blog
Readers? People who are reading blogs are often tech
savvy (or want to be) and they are upwardly mobile. Many are
taking control of the content they receive by subscribing to
a number of blog feeds. As more people discover the medium,
blogs will tend to fuel a desire to know more about the
world beyond our own experience. Many young blog readers are
abandoning television and newspapers for the news delivered
to them instantly through RSS content feeds.
2. Blogs Offer Instant Gratification. Millions of
people are blogging about something. Some use their blogs as
a forum to rant or rave about some pet peeve. Blogs are
usually organized backwards from books, with the most recent
entries on top. When a reader finishes an article he must
then work his way back through previous posts and into the
archives to discover how the writer got to his current
position within the narrative. Because each new entry is
published online immediately, and read worldwide within
seconds, they offer instant gratification on the subjects
people are clamoring to read and learn about.
3. Blogs Can Be Very Intimate. Blogs present
opinionated commentary on news and events. They bring us
diverse inside information on everything from the inner
workings of stock trades, to the views of a hooker analyzing
her customers, or the ramblings of a young rebel fighting
with his own demons. The writer can tell all, and still hide
his identity if he wishes. Because of this, blogs can become
extremely intimate.
This openness is alluring for many readers. To peak through
a window, to open a dark closet door, or just to hear an
expert explain his take on a new product — this form of
intimate information delivery can be compelling, because it
bypasses the middle man and all his filters. Readers get
addicted if they appreciate a writer's candid message or
writing style, personal confessions or honesty. In a world
seeking deeper connections, the intimacy that blogs employ
can be very refreshing. It's easy to get hooked by
subscribing to a blog's RSS feed like a junkie in search of
his next high.
4. Blog Writers Become "Celebrities" (Of Sorts).
After reading her wedding posts for months, one of our
brides treated my business partner like she was a celebrity
when they finally met in person.
But if reading blogs is
addictive, how much more is it to writing them? Every blog
author is a star writing to his or her own "public", however
small that may be. When a writer realizes that he is
literally reaching people all over the world, and they start
to give him feedback — both good and bad — his immense
outreach can fuel the desire to build a very real publishing
empire of his own.
Each writer really has
the potential of becoming the next John Steinbeck of our
brave new Internet age. . . or the next Matthew Drudge
. . . or the next online millionaire.
And what is so incredible
— especially for a book author like me to realize — you
don't have to get anyone's permission to publish your work.
You can type away and seconds later tell the world exactly
what's on your mind. If this isn't "publishing power",
nothing is.

Depresion 2.0
Is Here!
Recently I have become a world traveler. Here I am at a
resort in the Philippines with my wife Nikki.

I can tell you first hand, this recession is impacting
people around the world. We are now facing the greatest
recession since the Great Depression of the 1930's. I call
it Depression 2.0.
Count on the fact
that conditions will get much worse. Warren Buffett,
probably the world's richest man and one of the smartest
business minds of our generation, recently predicted that
things will continue to get worse until the end of
2010! But he is also optimistic about the ability of the USA
and the world to bounce back in the future.
If you have lost your
job (or are about to), you should understand that the real
difference between today and the 1930's will be our ability
to communicate with other people and sell products and
information throughout the world. If you want to insulate
yourself against the worsening financial conditions that
will continue to plague the entire planet for some time to
come, then learn how to be successful on the Internet!
This FREE website will be a great help in the coming months.

Throwing Enough Mud On the Wall...
One of the big secrets that you should understand, is
that you will probably not make much money if you have just
one blog. The real power in building AdSense and affiliate
income is having a lot of websites and blogs. This
dramatically increases your ability to get traffic and also
to get "clicks."
