A "How to Blog" Article
What Makes A Blog
So Unique?
Here Is Why Blogs Are a Marketer's Dream
A. Six Keys that
Make Blogs Unique
There are six elements of
a blog that distinguish it from other channels of
communication. Although you can find these traits elsewhere
— and none by itself is remarkable — yet in the final
assembly, these elements are the most powerful two-way
Internet communications tool developed so far.
1. A Blog Is A
Publishing System. Each blog post is instantly published
into the Internet world. Any blogger becomes an instant
publisher and he can cheaply broadcast his words (or his
videos, audio or artwork) throughout the world.
2. Blogs Are Easily
Found. Through search engines, people can find a blog's
articles by subject, by author or by both. The more often a
blogger posts, the more likely his blog will be found.
3. Blogs Are Social
Creatures. In the blogosphere, interesting topical
conversations can easily move from site to site, linking to
each other. The blogosphere really can become just one big
conversation, all linked together. Through blogs, people
share their thoughts and interests and build relationships
unrestricted by geographical boundaries.
4. Blogs Can Easily Be
Syndicated. If your readers click on an icon, they can
receive instant "free home delivery" to their computer. RSS
enabled blogs can also go straight into email software. The
RSS process is much more efficient than past methods of
visiting one page of a website and looking to see if there
were any changes.
5. Blogs Are Easily
Link-able. Because every blogger can link to any other
blog of his choosing, each blog potentially has access to
tens of millions of people who visit the blogosphere every
day.
6. Blogs Grow Virally.
Information can actually spread faster through blogs than it
does when coming from a regular news service. When there is
a crisis in the world, especially in some country that is
hard to send reporters, blogs become an indispensable form
of communication that even the news networks rely upon.
Currently, no other viral marketing system matches the speed
and efficiency of blogging.
B. Blogs Are
Content Management Systems
It is exciting when you
realize that a well designed blog program is a full blown
content management system. All of the posts and pages that
you put into this system can be organized in such a way that
they make it much easier for people to find your articles.
This all comes automatically when you use most blog software
programs.
In contrast, most website
creation software does not automatically organize your site.
You have to put a lot of effort into organizing a website,
which involves a lot of work. Blog software that is
organized properly makes it so much easier for untrained
people to publish their content. Many web masters are
actually starting to use blog software for their websites.
C. Blogs Are A
Marketer's Dream
1. Blogs Are An
Internet Content Delivery System. The marriage of this
content management software with the already revolutionary
Internet delivery system has created a new theater which
anyone can jump on and perform. Think about it. Without
asking anyone's permission, your message can quickly be seen
or heard all over the world. By authoring your own blog, you
become your own publisher. You can broadcast your prose,
show off your photos or pitch your products. All by
yourself, your message goes out to the entire civilized
world.
2. Blogs Are
Themselves A Marketplace. At the moment, blog readers
tend to be on the younger side, affluent and quite likely to
be influential within their social circles. In one survey,
41 percent of blog readers made in excess of $75,000. So
blog readers often have discretionary income. This makes
them a growing segment of prime real estate within the
Internet marketplace. Creative businessmen are smart to
advertise within popular blogs. They are also wise to create
their own blogs to lure these affluent readers into their
fold.
3. Blogs Are
Inexpensive and Effective. One of the best things about
blogs is that they cost little to put up and run. Blogs are
also easy to create and build up in size, so even if you
only have a little to spend, you can still develop a wide
audience. The bigger your audience, the more potential you
will have for turning that readership into income. You can
also create one or more blogs without a lot of outside help,
working from the privacy of your home. No long commitments
are necessary. And you can do all of this in your spare
time.
One of the most exciting
marketing facts benefiting blogs is that search engines just
love them. This can be exhilarating for any Internet
marketer who has spent hours and lots of money building a
website only to receive little or no traffic. If done
correctly, a blog is much more likely to attract the
attention of the search engines and be ranked high in the
listings.

Depresion 2.0
Is Here!
Recently I have become a world traveler. Here I am at a
resort in the Philippines with my wife Nikki.

I can tell you first hand, this recession is impacting
people around the world. We are now facing the greatest
recession since the Great Depression of the 1930's. I call
it Depression 2.0.
Count on the fact
that conditions will get much worse. Warren Buffett,
probably the world's richest man and one of the smartest
business minds of our generation, recently predicted that
things will continue to get worse until the end of
2010! But he is also optimistic about the ability of the USA
and the world to bounce back in the future.
If you have lost your
job (or are about to), you should understand that the real
difference between today and the 1930's will be our ability
to communicate with other people and sell products and
information throughout the world. If you want to insulate
yourself against the worsening financial conditions that
will continue to plague the entire planet for some time to
come, then learn how to be successful on the Internet!
This FREE website will be a great help in the coming months.
