A "How to Blog" Article
Eight Reasons Search Engines
Love Blogs
More Reasons Why Blogs Are a Marketer's Dream
1. Search Engines Love
Blogs Because They Offer Lots Of Content. You've
probably heard the phrase, "content is the King."
Information is what people are searching for; they use the
Net to find answers to their questions. Because blogs are
usually full of word rich posts containing lots of content,
they offer search engines exactly what they have been
programmed to find — words on subjects that visitors are
searching for.
2. Blogs Are Popular
With Search Engines Because They Are Updated Regularly.
Blogs frequently add new posts, and when they do, they alert
the search engines (through pinging) so that Google and
Yahoo are much more likely to come running to index all
those new words. The more you update, the more search
engines will send their spiders out to your website. This
means new articles are much more likely to be immediately
indexed within the search engines.
3. Blogs Usually Focus On One Particular Content Niche.
Theme or niche content found in many blogs are favored
by search engines. Theme information is almost always seen
as having more value than blogs aimed at generic subject
matter that tries to be all things to all people.
Because blogs are more likely to narrow their focus and target a
niche, search engines soon compute that a blog with lots of
pages on a more narrow subject is an "authoritative site".
Being seen as an authority on any particular subject, brings
you up in the ranking for the search terms that are being
used to find your blog topic. So Google and Yahoo are likely to
serve up authority sites quicker then websites with less
content, because surfers are much more likely to be happy
with those results.
4. Because Blogs Are Popular With Readers, Search Engines
Search Them Regularly. Search engines go where people
want them to go, and because people are looking for and reading these
types of blogs, the search engines want to keep up with them and
index their content.
5. Blogs Are Promoted By Many Online Blog Directories.
Most websites have to depend upon the search engines, but
there are many popular directories now aimed just at
categorizing and listing blogs and their content so that
search engines are better able to find them. The search
engines send their spiders to these directories to find out
what is new.
6. By Their Nature, Blogs Tend To Be Inter-linked With
Many Other Online Sources. Search engines love links.
They use them, sometimes even more than a site's content, to
determine how the website or blog should be ranked. If a lot of websites link
back to your blog, they assume it must be popular and it
will generally rise up in the listings compared with sites
that don't have as many links.
7. It Is Easy To Promote Links To Well Organized Blogs.
Trackbacking, comments, and pinging features help blogs
promote themselves quickly and easily. Blog software has all
sorts of features that encourage people to leave comments
and link to their favorite posts.
8. Blog Software Tends To Be Cleanly Coded. This
makes it easier for search engines to read and index their
content. Many websites are full of Java Script and Flash
programs that may be artistic, but which make it more
difficult for search engines to read and follow their links.
If a search engine can't read your content because it is not
well written, or if the link uses invisible coding, you
won't be indexed. That's one reason why blogs are read so
much easier than many websites.
So blogs are popular, search engines love them, and they are
easy to create with inexpensive software. Just these three
reasons alone make them an incredibly cost effective tool
for any wise marketer. They are currently the perfect method
for a beginner with no Internet experience to get online in
a hurry.

Depresion 2.0
Is Here!
Recently I have become a world traveler. Here I am at a
resort in the Philippines with my wife Nikki.

I can tell you first hand, this recession is impacting
people around the world. We are now facing the greatest
recession since the Great Depression of the 1930's. I call
it Depression 2.0.
Count on the fact
that conditions will get much worse. Warren Buffett,
probably the world's richest man and one of the smartest
business minds of our generation, recently predicted that
things will continue to get worse until the end of
2010! But he is also optimistic about the ability of the USA
and the world to bounce back in the future.
