What Are My Qualifications
To Write This Book

I have written almost 60 hard-bound and paperback books. My books have been translated into eight languages, won awards and one was offered on national television. My solid writing background assures you I know how to put together well-written materials.

But more importantly, I haven't worked a day job in over 15 years. And in the last eight years I've made my living exclusively from my Internet businesses. We've grossed well over $2,000,000.00. I had to learn the hard way how to make a living Online. But Blog Money Secrets is far more than one man's success story. I can help you achieve results similar, with  money spent on your part — and absolutely no risk for you.

Preparation for
Producing Good Copy

Let's Begin Creating
Profitable Content

In this section (beginning with this article) I will talk about how to create profitable content for your blogs. Because writing your own content takes more skill and knowledge, I'll spend time helping you develop those skills. I'll then discuss farming out your content and towards the end of the section I'll get more specific about ways you can effectively create money-making automated blogs.

(By the way, if you want to take a look at a software program that will seriously automate your blog creation and help you pull in content automatically, click on the red Firepow ad on the right.)

Because content is so important to your blogs, you'll need some way to produce it. Are you enough of a writer yourself, or will you need to hire someone to write for you? Are you planning to use the article directories? Are you planning to use RSS feeds? Content is essentially why people will come to you site; so it is vitally important that you decide how you will create your content.

Having written 60 books up to this point (with many more on the way), I probably know a few things about how to research and find good content ideas which people will want to read (and even pay for). I've also worked with many others who want to have copy for their own blogs. Most people want to have monetized websites that can earn them money while they sleep.

For someone who really enjoys writing and has wanted for a long time, creating her own content is probably the best best. For those where writing is not such a passion, you can work to set up autopilot blogs which you can personalize, but still use article content and RSS feeds.

I would suggest that finding your own best solution, or a combination of them, which will help you develop the content for your blogs. In this chapter, I will help you prepare step-by-step to write strong content in a variety of different ways that will put you at the top of the blogging food chain.

A. Why Content is King

Yes, content is the "king." It is, generally speaking, what people are looking for; written information on a particular niche topic. When someone goes looking for that content, they usually put into their search engine or their aggregator, keywords or keyword tags which declare the basic subject matter for which they are searching. If you provide quality content, that is rich in the appropriate keywords, you are likely to have a lot of people who will find your site. But without keyword content, you won't be offering much of value to lure in and keep the average surfer.

The way to grab hold of your visitors when they get to your site, and keep them coming back for more, is to provide them will compelling information. People will come to your blog in search of information that is of interest to them, if you give them what they want, chances are good that they will stay longer on your site (and be more likely to click on your ads and/or use your business service or buy any products you might be selling).

B. How You Can Create Content

Here is an overview of different ways you can create content for your sites:

1. Write It Yourself. If you are a decent writer and you know what you want to say, you are ahead of the game. This is one of your best sources of content: simply writing it yourself. Nothing is more to the point of what you want than doing it yourself. If you are interested in creating a blog that promotes your existing business this might be the best way to start.

If you are interested in developing a small network of blogs, writing your own content might still be the best way to proceed. Bloggers like Darren Rowse write a number of blogs each day, full time. And they are paid handsomely for that investment of time.

2. Have Someone Write For You. If you have the funds to pay for it, another viable method of developing unique content is to have someone else write it for you. It could be a spouse who steps up and takes over this task; it might be one or more of your kids (if they're old enough). If you own a business, you might want to have one of your office staff performing this job. Or you could hire it out. We'll talk more about how to hire someone later.

3. Rewrite Other People's Articles. On the surface, this may seem close to "scraping", discussed below, but it is totally different. This still involves writing or editing. If you take an article someone else has written (presumably because you like the content), you rewrite the entire piece by rearranging sentences, changing the structure, etc. If you truly rewrite the article (not just "play" with the words), but adding some of your own thoughts, this is quite acceptable. Anything less than this could be construed as copyright infringement. (We will discuss this in the next chapter).

4. Have The Computer Generate Content. This is usually done by having the software on your host server (where your blog is located), pull words off of other sites by using their RSS feeds. This can be totally legal and also ethical, especially if the site where you are pulling the data want it to be placed on other websites (such as news headlines or content feeds purposely being made available).

Many junk blog programs, however, will pull bits and pieces of RSS feeds from sources who (I'm sure), wouldn't knowingly allow that to happen. Again, I don't recommend using this approach because it is illegal and it usually creates pages that can be very difficult to read.

Two years ago I heard a Podcast from a guy who received $50,000 from Google for his January, 2007 AdSense check. He was running total junk blogs that humans couldn't even read, but which had great traffic and great clicks as people tried to find content on them. Google had even reviewed his sites at one point and approved of them. But then they suddenly had a change of heart and announced to him in a letter that his AdSense account had been closed. His business was history.

In that recording, he counseled others to build content that was worth reading, because if you don't you're building your business on a foundation of sand.
