How to Monetize
Your Blog-- the Basics

Understanding the Basics of Monetization

1. Anyone Can Take Advantage of the Secrets. I shared with you earlier that according to a 2006 survey by Pew Internet & American Life Project, 85 percent of the existing bloggers don't actually make any money spending their time typing out their thoughts and opinions.

I am assuming that you are reading this online Training Course so that you will become part of that fifteen percent who do make money blogging. And if you listen carefully, and follow your own step-by-step blogging plan which you will hopefully develop as a result of reading the Blog Money Secrets Training Course, it is very likely that you will become one of those people who makes his living from blogging. (Of course, I cannot guarantee this for you, because I do not know how hard you will work, or what your own personal limitations are). But it is certainly very possible.

2. The Are Many Ways to Monetize Your Blogs. Of course I would be lying if I said that advertising is not at the foundation of most of the blog money that you will make in your business. In this section of the Blog Money Secrets Training Course and website I will show you a wide variety of ways to sell various advertising ads from many different companies.

But I do also want to stress that there are a LOT of other ways to generate income. So keep your mind open to the possibilities. What works for others may not work for you. So choose your income programs wisely.

3. There MUST Always Be Some Source of Blog Income To Continue. I think its important to mention that there has been a backlash movement in some circles on the Internet with those who preach that blogging without ads is the high road that everyone who is "pure" should take. Certainly anyone can decide to blog without putting ads on their site, for a wide variety of personal or business reasons. But to preach that having ads on your site is "selling out" is a little hypocritical.

Everywhere you look, you'll find advertising. If you watch TV programs, listen to the radio, or even go to movies you'll regularly be exposed to advertisements. Advertising is a natural part of our way of life. Those who want to pontificate against "selling out" should ask themselves if ads serve a purpose in this world. If there was no advertising, we would have to pay for things directly. Even nonprofit radio stations, who do not take ads, usually have sponsors (which is really the same thing repackaged to keep the FCC off the station's back).

There will always be some source of funding to support any publishing venture. If you don't have ads, or donations, or a rich family, you won't end up blogging for very long. This Training Course just tells you how to do it wisely in such a way that you can someday leave your day job (which is often your ultimate sponsor). And that, most of us will agree, is a worthy cause.

4. Planning Ahead Will Make Your Blogs More Profitable. With niche blogging, you will likely be developing a following. While this is a great way to create a powerful income stream -- because your readers will be listening to your buying advice -- it is important that you begin by thoroughly thinking through your advertising approach so that you will know how to build on this following. Even if you have an autopilot blog, you must still do this, because how you present your ad choices on your blogs will have a LOT to do with how often they are clicked upon.

5. It Doesn't Cost Anything to Have Advertisers. One of the best pieces of good news I have for you is that you will not have to pay for signing up with virtually any company to offer their ads on your blogs. This is amazing when you think of all the different ways you can make money on your blogs. You don't have to give AdSense or Yahoo! Publishing Network or ClickBank or Commission Junction or CafePress or Amazon or almost any of these companies any fee to get started. Your biggest outlay will be your time. So the playing field is very level for beginners.

In the following articles I will present a lot of different ways that you can monetize your blogs. Every day the choices for building an online income continue to increase. Some of these companies are new and some of them will perfect their tools and give you better results in the future. Be sure and keep posted as we expand the Training Course, so you'll know what's happening with these companies, as the Internet is constantly changing. You'll want to stay up with the latest way to make money.
